“It’s more a system problem than a people problem.”

Abigail moved to L.A. a couple of years ago to study psychology. For the sake of conversation we asked her to trace the psychological profile of the typical American. “Very independent, very self-sufficient, without the culture of the family, very alone.” What about those stereotypes that some people use to label Mexicans? “Trump is right in part, because people who come from Mexico have to start from the bottom. When they don’t have work they turn to stealing or selling drugs. If the United States government would give them opportunity they wouldn’t have to do that. It’s more a system problem than a people problem.” Before agreeing or disagreeing with her, know this: Abigail is not just studying psychology. She chose criminal psychology.
